I remember as a child reading about «human computers», a rather shocking term given to women working for NASA during the space race. One of these women was mathematician and aerospace engineer Mary Jackson, whose story (among others) was popularized in the movie «Hidden Figures». She is a perfect example of the kind of barriers that women still face to get into STEM, and even when already inside, the kind of unnecessary labelling and special treatment that is bestowed upon them.
