Professor Wu is one of the most ingenious experimental physicists of the XX century. Among her works are the first observation of angular correlation in polarization of two entangled photons, confirmation of Fermi´s theory of beta decay and the experimental verification of parity non-conservation. Despite this, only her male colleagues were awarded a Nobel Prize for parity non-conservation discovery. Prof. Wu´s figure is especially inspiring for me because of the consistency of her work (not just one lucky discovery but many, confirming her expertise) and the huge impact she had on the development of the Standard Model and modern Physics.
