Alina wanted to be an astronaut when she was a child which eventually led her to earn her PhD in Astrophysics. While the astronaut dream did not work out, she applies her love of physics to her job at ICFO every day, delving into ICFOnians’ advances and creatively finding ways to communicate very technical concepts to broad, often non-scientific audiences. Her enthusiasm for science and her ability to share this enthusiasm with those with and without scientific backgrounds is inspiring. Alina is a great communicator, teacher, and colleague, as well as an admirable science ambassador.
