Jane Goodall
I was 21 years old the first time I saw Jane Goodall. She was giving a conference at the Veterinary Faculty, and although it was late in the day, some friends and I decided to go. I knew a bit about her career researching primates in the wild, but I had never seen her before. The first thing this tiny lady with grey hair did on stage was to start shouting, imitating the vocals of wild chimpanzees, and I immediately loved her. I discovered a new field of science that I hadn’t known before that became my passion. Her personality and career have inspired me ever since to work in what I truly love.
