Roberta is a well-known Physics researcher with a broad research career in the fields of Quantum Electronics, Optoelectronics, Quantum Optics and Photonics. But what makes her a role model to me, is the fact that she has been even more successful navigating through a male dominated field, getting to leadership positions in organizations such as becoming director of the IFN-CNR, president of EOS and ICO, and member of the executive board of Photonics21, as well as receiving several awards. She is smart, nice and always willing to collaborate and support outreach and diversity initiatives. Well-deserved, she is one of the references of the photonics global community.
