Mileva Marić
Mileva Marić was a Serbian physicist and mathematician. She was the only woman among Einstein’s fellow students at Zürich Polytechnic and was the second woman to finish a full program of study at the Department of Mathematics and Physics. Marić and Einstein were collaborators and lovers and had children together, although her contribution to Albert Einstein’s early work, and to the Annus Mirabilis Papers in particular, was never recognized and is still a subject of debate. Marić’s academic career was disrupted when she became pregnant. Without the constraints of the domestic burden to which she was relegated, she would have had scientific career.
