Brené Brown
I would like to nominate Dr. Brené Brown, a social scientist whose research topics, data, dissemination and use of this data is very inspiring and helping to change society, its norms and culture for better. Dr. Brené Brown is a research professor at the University of Houston, at the Graduate College of Social Work. She has spent the past two decades studying courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy. She is also known as the shame researcher and her TED talk on the Power of Vulnerability is one of the best talks I have listened. Dr. Brown spends most of her time working in organizations around the world, helping develop braver leaders and more-courageous cultures. According to her «a leader is someone who holds her- or himself accountable for finding potential in people and processes.» She tough me (and millions) the power of authenticity, importance of connection, courage over comfort, and gifts of imperfection.
